Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Rubra'
Description: A beautiful form of the common A. macrorrhizos in which the stems, petioles and primary veins of the leaf are a rich purple-red. Unlike the typical form of A. macrorrizos the spathe is flushed purple-pink. Plants can attain over 2 meteres in height.
Cultivation recommendations:
An easy species to grow given warmth, above 18C for best growth, humidity, ample water and regular feeding. The richest leaf colouration is produced by plants growing in full sun.
