N. eustachya (Tjampo)

Description: Previously regarded as a Sumateran variety of N. alata, this is now considered a separate species. Nepenthes eustachya is relatively common in lowland areas of West Sumatera, particularly on steep rocky slopes and in kerangas vegetation. The attractive pitchers have a swollen base and are usually white suffused with varying amounts of pink or red.

Cultivation recommendations:>/b> A rapid and easy grower, N. eustachya prefers warm conditions but can tolerate somewhat cooler conditions than most other lowland species. See also: How to Grow Nepenthes
