Description: This highland species in endemic to the Kinabalu area in Sabah, Borneo where it grows in mossy forest on ultramafic soils. The large cream-colored lower pitchers are beautifully decorated with red/purple spots and have a brilliantly striped peristome. Upper pitchers are similarly colored, but are smaller and more funnel-shaped. Cultivation recommendations: An easily grown highland species, able to tolerate somewhat warmer conditions than for other Kinabalu species such as N. rajah and N. villosa.
