Description: A widespread species occurring in wet ground in New Guinea, Borneo, Sumatera, and Peninsular Malaysia. The narrow reclining lid allows the broad urceolate pitchers to fill with rainwater. In mature plants large clumps of lower pitchers form at the base of the climbing stem. Upper pitchers are vestigial and diminutive and are only rarely produced.

Cultivation recommendations: Prefers light shading, warm lowland temperatures, and consistently moist (though not wet) medium. Allow upper stem foliage growth for vigorous basal rosette formation. See also: How to Grow Nepenthes
